I proffer four comments in asssessing the House of Representatives:

You are utterly without scruple and moral compass due to your support of the military at the expense of significant domestic programmes and needs.

You are allowing your hatred of democracy to tolerate the spying on Americans, mass murder in Iraq, and the desire to restrict flag desecration by constitutional amendment.

While I agree a Democratic majority would be just marginally better, you are at least partially responsible for a nation that is loathed throughout the world, is construed as out of control and a bully, wishes confrontation over cooperation and is leading us down a path of ruin and destruction. Not one of your leaders in the House has called for a new civil rights act, for the equality of marriage and the need to protect women's rights such as reproductive choice. To think of your power and financial security and yet no sense of justice for those who are marginalised is typical of arrogant, irresponsible leadership that should be condemned and castigated for moral depravity.

Your plans to vote next week on whether to adopt a Senate measure to increase fines to $325,000 on television and radio broadcast stations that violate decency standards, is somewhat bizarre and hypocritical. Whether a breast is shown during the Super Bowl during a song and dance routine with Ms Janet Jackson, is hardly equivalent to the indecent policies you pursue with tax cuts for the rich, $440 billion defence budgets, demands to deport 12 million undocumented workers who nanny your kids, clean your offices, trim your bushes, build buildings and pick the fruits and vegetables that you eat. To think you would even consider censoring the media in the name of decency, as you raise by $100,000s fines for alleged porno or what have you, is part of the hypocrisy and arrogance that so defines this nation and its leadership.
